The Extra Long L Bar helps you move your work over a little - should you have a large piece of work, or a broader space to navigate such as a wide chair arm. This bar provides an extra six inches on the horizontal. Silver grey color matches the Silver Grey workstand, but will not fit in the Stainless Steel workstand (the shiny one!). The diameter of the rod is about 12 mm; circumference is 39 mm.
FYI: Lowery Accessories are not compatible with Stainless Steel Stands unless indicated. Stainless Steel Accessories are marked as such.

Having done a fair bit of research before purchasing my first Lowery stand, I was sure I would want the extender bar as an add-on to my order. All of the glowing reviews are right - it fits perfectly in the colored stands, and it really maximizes your flexibility. I have two stitching spots - 1 where it's necessary, 1 where it's optional. The bar is easy to swap out as needed. I'm so glad I ordered it when it was in stock!

I’m lucky it was still in the box. The tape had pulled away from the box, there was no packaging material at all to prevent it from flopping and banging around.
