Poinsettia Biscornu Cross Stitch Pattern by The Blue Flower
Poinsettia Biscornu Cross Stitch Pattern by The Blue Flower
I really wanted to capture one of my favorite seasonal blooms in a biscornu format. There's a lot of stitching in this, but the results came out just the way I'd hoped and I love the dramatic effect.
The model is stitched on 32 count "Khaky" linen from xJudesign. Stitch count is 102 high x 102 wide.
Threads Used:
DMC - 729, 3346, 3777
Weeks - Queen Anne's Lace, Seaweed, Sockeye
Classic Colorworks - Tennessee Red Clay, Rose Petal
(DMC conversion is included for the overdyed threads. Closest DMC match for the fabric is roughly 640/642)
This design uses a lot of thread (depending on the fabric count) but on 32 count, stitching with 2 threads requires 3 skeins of Queen Anne's Lace and 2 skeins each of 3346, Seaweed, Sockeye, Tennessee Red Clay and Rose Petal.

Variegated color and style make it an unusual Christmas ornament.
