For optimal results, use a dry iron and press embroidered blocks on the wrong side. The mat acts as a cushion for stitches and preserves the texture of the design. If the mat is damp after use, simply hang it to air-dry before storing. Occasionally, rinse the mat with cold water and let it hang to dry. If you choose to use starch, make sure the fabric is completely dry before pressing to avoid scorching the mat.
